How To Choose Your Wedding Invites

For me, choosing wedding invites was a big deal. Not only is this the official announcement of your wedding details, it’s the first hint at what the aesthetic of the day will be. No pressure, but… pressure. While my mom chose the invites for my bridal shower (and nailed it), I browsed forever to find perfect invites for the big day.

Here’s a couple tips that I learned while going through the process:

Match your theme & aesthetic. Focus in on what you want the overall look of your wedding to be. For example, ours is going to be elevated rustic with a hint modern. The olive branch greenery and mix of fonts on the ones we chose are a perfect reflection of that. Browse through everything and wait until one pops out that exemplifies what you’re picturing.

Pick one that fits all needed information. There were some invites that I found that I loved, but didn’t work. They either had way too much space for the details of our intimate ceremony, or too much decoration to fit information that your guests need. We found a happy medium in the one above that neatly and clearly fit everything. We paid a bit extra to print it double-sided, so attire, parking, registry, and RSVP information is on the back.

Don’t forget about the envelopesEven though they’re not pictured here, our envelopes were just as pretty as our invites. They also featured those gorgeous branches, and we opted for a gold foil lining that further elevated the overall feel.

Check all sites possible so you see everything available to you. Our wedding invites were from Minted, but my mom found the bridal shower invites on Vista Print. Etsy also has plenty of options, but be sure to check their turn-around time since individuals selling can take longer than an established site.
