Acid wash: Some love it, some hate it, some can’t get the 90s references out of their head. Personally, I love it and take that last option as a compliment. As a 90s born baby, the resurrection of all things minimal and midriff bearing have my heart singing. However, there’s one thing that the last 20 years of fashion evolution have taught us: a tailored fit matters. The one thing that’s changed so drastically with these 90s inspired styles is how the proportions of silhouettes have taken a turn for the better. So, no matter which decades past trend you’re trying out at the moment, make sure the right fit is there along with the influence. Case in point: the fact that this denim mini dress is acid wash yet fits like a glove. For the rest of this look, I added a few decidedly bohemian references in warm neutrals to tone down the patterned denim. My panama hat has yet to fail me, while my lace-up sandals added some height to contrast the short hem. Carrying my denim clutch was a fun way to tie these neutral accessories in while playing on the denim on (acid wash) denim look.
