It’s that time again. Syllabuses, seminars, studying, and the list goes on. I’ve heard about as many orientation lectures that I can handle since starting school last Monday… Good thing I have cute school supplies to keep my attention on note taking and not Instagram scrolling. Being equipped with the right materials can make staying organized and on-task a breeze – and these coordinated designs are definitely a bonus. I’ll let you in on a secret: All of these supplies cost $25 and some change at Office Depot and OfficeMax online and in stores. I was pretty excited about it too.

It’s common knowledge that I’m a firm believer in aesthetics. I’m always looking for ways that I can add little touches beauty to my life on the day-to-day. In that regard, matching sets are always a plus. Mint, white, gold, and a few pops of black from the Divoga ‘Gold Struck’ collection make for a cool-toned color palette that keeps me zen even through my three-hour class on Wednesdays. Now that you’re obsessed too, I’ll give you the breakdown on why I bought what.

First things first: keeping all those freshly printed handouts from week one organized. This six-pack of folders was an immediate necessity. I have three on-campus classes that I need to organize papers for, so the three separate colors make grabbing the right one easy as I’m running out the door for lectures. It’s also nice having backups for each class, since past classes have proved that teachers are the sole cause for the declining rain forests. The paper and binder clips help with that issue as well. Can we talk about how much I love having a coordinated set of these essentials? They keep papers together that need to be together so nothing gets lost – and they look good while doing it.

As for the writing necessities, these are of utmost importance to me because I’ve always been a kinesthetic learner. Writing things down helps me to process information and keep my thoughts organized. I’m also known to serially rip pages out of my notebooks after rewriting them in a structured way (my studying method of choice). To make things easier on myself this semester, I have three notebooks to help with that habit. The two smaller ones have proven to be perfect for taking to class because they fit in any bag I want to carry. I can scribble and cross out as much as I want in them because it all gets transferred into the bigger notebook; aka what will be my bible this semester. With so many notes and subjects going into it, I had to get some highlighters to add another layer of organization (color coding, anyone?). I hadn’t tried the new Sharpie Clear View ones though the commercials intrigued me. It’s actually pretty amazing how much easier they make highlighting. I’m what you would call draw-a-straight-line challenged and these instantly eliminated almost all of my mistakes. Oh, and we can’t forget to talk about these pens. You guys, they match everything too. I also bought the pen case that goes with the whole set and have no regrets. It’s the little things that matter.

Having what you need for the first day of class is a sure way to start the semester on a focused note. And If you’re like me, keeping that organized routine going until finals week is easier with materials that I’m excited to show off – and I didn’t have to make my wallet suffer in the process. #GearUpForCollege, gear up for great.
Am I right?
