When I was considering What to Wear for Thanksgiving, I hadn’t really taken into consideration what the temperature was supposed to be yesterday. After all, nothing but cool comes to mind when I’m thinking of the autumn holiday. Unfortunately, it ended up being a ridiculous 90 degrees. I was set on wearing this amazing Free People cable knit and the heat didn’t stop me. While I suffered (and sweat) a little, I was glad I decided to stay within the holiday spirit. The oversized fit of the sweater helped me stay cool since it wasn’t skin tight. The distressed details add a grunge vibe that give a modern edge to the classic knit. Since I wouldn’t wear a necklace with this sweater anyway because of the extra design elements, the small cowl detail fills that space perfectly. Since the top is more of an off-white, I decided to pair it with all black and dark red lips to add some drama and dimension for the special occasion. There’s no limit to how you can style a top like this. I can’t wait to try it with a collar peaking through the neckline and some tall boots, and I also have plans to wear it with a dress or skirt underneath. I’m sure I’ll be posting a few more looks featuring this piece.
