Monochrome and minimal – two words that basically define my choice of outfit about 90% of the time. This look was obviously no exception to that rule. I’ve been dreaming of my Fall wardrobe, but we’re still stuck in this heat wave here in Orange County. This light knit set is perfect for these in between times. Keeping the accessories like my bag and shoes neutral while sporting a bandana on the neck gives an air of autumn that’s still manageable in this heat. But I’m ready for layers, damn it!

Speaking of layers and actual seasons, I’ve been missing New York like crazy lately… In case some of you don’t know, my first semester of college was spent in the city. I had never been there before getting on the plane to move. It was such a scary, crazy, spontaneous move that I wish I has spent more time mentally preparing for. I moved back to California after six months because of that and have been wanting to go back ever since. I’ve been hinting to Michael about a trip there since he’s never seen the city, and now he’s just as excited as I am to plan a trip. I can’t wait to make him fall in love with the New York noise.
