Happy Hour

With my job at an antique store, it’s so easy to get caught up in the history and craftsmanship behind the European furniture I work with. My boyfriend and I have an apartment furnished with gorgeous, English pieces from the early 1900s that we accent with modern touches. Mixing styles and repurposing in creative ways is what gives the art of interior design endless options. One piece that we repurposed was this tea trolley. We were originally drawn to it because the barley twist legs match some other décor in our home, but we needed to create a function for the cart. My boyfriend came up with the idea to make it a small mobile bar. We have it by our dinner table and it’s easily accessible from our kitchen, making it a perfect spot to make drinks. Not only does it work as storage for bottles, but I also love being able to display our ball jar collection. The set of bar tools that was passed down to Michael keeps the integrity of the antique feel and is perfect for cutting garnishes and mixing drinks. Our little tea trolley-bar is a functional piece that gives our space the perfect comfortable vibe.
