Being a responsible adult sucks. While I wish I could spend money on clothes and beautiful things, my expenses now include rent, food, insurance, cable, power… you know the drill. Being busy with school and work leaves me little time to spend money elsewhere, anyway. But at some point, every woman knows when enough is enough. Treating yourself every once in a while is not a bad thing. Let me repeat: IT’S O.K. TO SPEND MONEY ON YOURSELF. Feeling good about yourself is important in every aspect of life, especially in how you represent yourself to others. Being comfortable and confident in your skin also means being comfortable and confident in your clothes. So, if you decide to let your card slip every so often, just embrace it. And please don’t think I’m encouraging blowing your bills – just spend that extra Starbucks money on a pair of jeans instead. In honor of this concept, I brought a few things home that I’ve had my eyes on forever: a pair of distressed black jeans, flat black booties, and a black turtleneck sweater. Shop them below and don’t be scared to browse a little yourself! You deserve it.
