TENUTA MONACIELLO ROSSO | BEAUX REGARDS SANCERRE
CUVÉE DU PÈRE LEONCE CHINON

I’m wine obsessed – a confession that’s not a confession at all. I wouldn’t go as far to say I’m a wine snob… but I’d be lying if I said I’ve never been described that way. I just can’t help it. There’s nothing like a glass of good wine to wind down at the end of the day. And I’m all about good wine. The taste, the experience, and, not to mention, the lack of hangover when you budget for the bottle that’s just a bit pricier. I have my go-tos, of course, but I also love trying something new every so often. With that being said, I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to choose a wine on a whim that ends up being a bad pick. And, trust me, it happens. All the time. That’s just the name of the wine game. But does it have to be?

With the new surge of subscriptions boxes that let you try-before-you-buy, wine fits into that format with ease. Case in point: VINEBOX. They sent me a box of wines by the glass to try, and I’m here to break down the process for all of my fellow classy winos out there.

They dole out a superior selection. “Life is too short for bad wine” rings clear in their mission statement, and no truer words have been said. With that in mind, they source their wines from small wineries that hold a passion and a pride for what they produce. And these aren’t wines you’ll find at your local chain store. They’re curated with you, the drinker, in mind by way of a short quiz that determines your ideal selections.

Their technology. Bringing the masses wine by the glass isn’t as easy as uncork, pour. To avoid contaminating flavor and feel, they use a closed-nitrogen environment so the drink never comes in contact with oxygen. This ensures a sealed and fresh experience with every glass.

The packaging. Because aesthetics are just as important as the experience, right? Each box includes 3 or 6 wines (depending on your membership) packed into slim and sleek screen-printed bottles that give an elevated feel to the samplings. To go with each glass, a stylized information card includes recommended food and music pairings and the history behind the varietal – basically everything you need to become the expert on what you’re about to enjoy.

The verdict? If you’re always wanting to try something new, or just ready to have great selections made with you in mind, then VINEBOX is for you. Head to their website now for more information and a breakdown of their membership options to get started. Cheers to finding your new favorite wine!
