What to Wear for Thanksgiving

While deciding what to wear to a family holiday like Thanksgiving, it’s never as easy as one would hope. I’m sure you can agree that the outfit needs to be on point with the fall season, and there’s extra pressure to present oneself as a trendsetter in the group. Not to mention, being at a family function means adding a level of modesty to whatever outfit you choose. For this food centered holiday in particular, I know I’ll be donning a look that has extra room in the belly region. There’s nothing worse than sucking your stomach in to accommodate a body con dress or high waisted pants after dinner. Been there once, never doing that again. While unbuttoning said jeans wouldn’t be the end of the world, oversized sweaters and A-line dresses are the perfect way to avoid that I’m-dying-of-fullness feeling while keeping your outfit intact.  With all of this in mind, I narrowed my choices down to a select few pieces that include a maxi dress and jacket combo, an oversized cable kit, and a color block sweater. While I wish I had a short dress option, nothing in my closet was standing out more than these picks. It’s an equal competition at this point, so I’ll make the final decision Thursday morning based on how I’m feeling.
