Our Honeymoon in Cancun

WHERE WE STAYED Le Blanc Spa Resort

Where do I even start….? This was the best trip of my life, hands down. And I know Michael feels the same. We are so blessed and lucky to have been able to start our married life together in such an amazing way.

First of all, I could DEFINITELY get used to that all-inclusive lifestyle. Le Blanc outdoes themselves on every level: from the hospitality, to the cleanliness, to the food. We were never left wanting in any way. I feel so spoiled to even be talking about the service, since I felt guilty even taking advantage… but take advantage we did. There was a butler on every floor that would bring you scented pillows, draw a salt infused bath, or add aromatherapy to the room whenever requested. And the room service? 24 hours a day annnd to die for. We literally could have stayed in the room alone and had the best time.

But, that would have been a waste. We started every morning with either room service breakfast or at the breakfast buffet. Then, we spent the rest of the day switching between the pool and the beach. The ocean water was my favorite part – it was warmer than the pool and nothing like the Pacific. We laid in the sun and experienced that same amount of service as everywhere else on the resort. There was no lack of mojitos and frozen drinks, and even the poolside food was amazing. I always started with the cous cous salad, then went for the baja tacos and the ceviche. All of the seafood was so fresh – I’m hungry just thinking about it.

Once we got our fill of sunshine for the day, we would either go to the spa where we spent all of our resort credits on massages (some of the best I’ve ever gotten), or back to the room for an afternoon nap. I mean, napping?! I never get the chance to nap, and let me tell you, it’s pretty incredible to get the opportunity. After that, we would go to one of the four amazing restaurants on site. Each had a theme (Asian, Italian, French, and International), and we would take turns going to each. None of them let us down in terms of taste or service. Not to mention, the all-inclusive wines were so good.

And, so it went. That was our daily routine for the seven days we spent there, and I could have spent seven more easily. Like I said, we were spoiled beyond belief. Through all of this, I did a major internet detox so I could focus on the moment I was in. I used my phone ONLY as a camera, hence all of the iPhone pics – sorrrry about that, but it was so worth it. Getting back into reality has been difficult to say the least, but we’re both so lucky to have this trip in our memories.

Here’s to starting married life and fully adulting from this moment on!
