When I woke up yesterday, I was set on getting Mike and I outside for the last calendar day of summer. He’s wanted to hike the trails near the Hollywood sign, so we decided to drive up to LA for an active day along with his brother. At first, we drove to the only trailhead I had ever taken at the end of Beachwood Blvd, but we were surprised to see that it was temporarily closed. Instead we drove a little ways to Griffith Park and found a trail to head down. We went about two miles into the trails, choosing which path to take as we came across them. We ended up walking through the courtyard at the Observatory, and continued a little further. It was so peaceful being out in the open and the weather was perfectly cloudy. The views of the city were an amazing backdrop for the rough workout the trails gave. Since I’m usually a gym girl, it was a perfect change of scenery. The whole day made me want to find workout activities, as opposed to routines, to stay in shape. Being healthy should be fun, so why not make it an adventure?
