I’ve marked another year down by turning 24 this past weekend.  This was the first birthday that I didn’t feel pressure to commit to doing something incredible – I was perfectly content spending the weekend with family and friends, eating out, and getting some fresh air.  With that, I took Monday off from work and Michael, Khaleesi, and I drove up the mountain to Big Bear.  This little couple-hour getaway is my favorite.  There was some snow on the ground, so the winter feel was undeniable.  We picnicked with some sandwiches, got one too many cups of coffee, and walked around the village until our hearts content.  All in all, it was the perfect way to wrap up the weekend.  While I don’t know how to feel about getting older, I can definitely say that I’m looking forward to everything to come.
