In my last outfit post, I mentioned that Michael and I had spent the day at the Fullerton Arboretum. While going through the pictures I took that day, I decided I had to share the experience with you all. I’m what you would call a true believer in the power of nature. The healing influence of beautiful views and fresh air is incomparable. Whenever I’m down or stressed out, surrounding myself with outdoor scenery is always the cure. On this particular day, Michael and I were looking for just a place to help alleviate some current stress. With a little research, we decided on heading to the Arboretum. I am so surprised that I have lived in Orange County my whole life without knowing that this little treasure of an escape existed. The grounds, which cover 26 acres, feature over 4,000 species of trees and plants. This range gives the experience of visiting various different types of terrain all in one place. One minute you’re in a bamboo forest, the next you’re in the Mojave Desert. While we weren’t prepared for a full hike, we ended up walking the whole thing. There were plenty of places to sit and relax along the paths, so it wasn’t overwhelming in the least.

For someone like me, who is usually surrounded by cars, buildings, and people, it’s more than a breathe of fresh air to take in surroundings like these with the person I love. I’m determined to make it a routine to come here at least once a month to just breath and unwind. I hope this has inspired you to do some research and find a local arboretum to visit – I promise you won’t regret it!
