SPRING TURKISH BEACH AND BATH TOWEL
Nothing makes me happier than a home item with versatility – and nothing is more versatile than a peshtemal, or Turkish Towel, from Hamamlook. These textiles have a rich history in Turkish culture, originally being used in the ancient hammam process: attending a relaxing and therapeutic public bath that also served as a social space. Wrapping yourself in one of these luxurious fabrics continues to be a part of the practice to this day.
Made from 100% pure, loomed Turkish cotton, they are ultra-soft, lightweight, and highly absorbent pieces that dry quickly and take up minimal space. Because of this, they can be used traditionally as bath towels, as a blanket or towel for the beach, or wrapped as a sarong. I loved the colors in the one they sent me so much that I’m currently using it as a throw over the chair I use as a nightstand – letting it sit pretty until I need to grab it for coming summer beach days.
