Herringbone Wood Floors

may1313-9

If there’s one feature I require when I buy my first house, it’s wood floors. Recently, that requirement has grown slightly more specific: I’m dead set on herringbone wood floors. The pattern provides all of the versatility of a traditional wood floor layout. You can play with panel size, staining options, and wood species to get your perfect combination. You can also opt for a chevron pattern, which has straight edges as opposed to staggered, for another variation. While herringbone is a traditional pattern that’s been around forever, it’s incorporation into flooring is seen as a relatively modern technique.  Whether you choose to cover your floor in the pattern or simply add an accent, using a herringbone layout is the perfect way to give extra character to your home. Scroll down to view some inspiration I’ve gathered that shows the versatility of the style!
