Whenever I’m choosing a nail color, it seems that neutrals are usually my center of gravity. The nudes, white and black are my go-tos, just like when I’m picking a top to wear. Every once in a while, though, my eyes will fall on a scarlet color and it pulls me in. There’s something about a good, classic red that always keeps me coming back.
The starlets of the past and their mysterious allure always seemed to don a shade of red on their fingertips. Red nails are sensual and bold all at once. They’re a way to say, “Look at me! I’m sexy and dangerous” without actually having to say it. The subtle confidence that red gives a woman is undeniable.
These here are some of my favorite shades of scarlet. The color I’ve been recently drawn to the most out of these shades is Salsa by China Glaze, which I’m wearing now. Its blue undertones complement so many different skin types, and looks good whether I’m pale or tan. On the other hand, when I’m feeling a brighter shade, Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It by OPI is more of an orange-y red. I love this one on the toes during summer to add fun color to any look. As we transition into fall, I’m sure to wear Got The Blues For Red by OPI, the darkest of the three. While it has blue undertones like Salsa, it’s a much deeper tone. With a few coats, it’s becomes that near black-red that’s gorgeous in the darker months.
I’ve put a few more colors below that I’ve been lusting over. You can never have too many red polishes! Whichever shade draws you in, be sure to show it off and rock it with confidence.
