There’s nothing like spending most of your day at a museum. It’s one of my favorite things to do to shut myself off from everything crazy going on in my life. It’s peaceful, mindful, and the best way to escape from day to day life while taking in the culture. It’s all about viewing the art, seeing things from another perspective, and focusing on what’s truly beautiful and unique in this world. One of my favorite museums is The Getty Center. It’s just so full of life – from the paintings to the furniture to the sculptures… and not to mention the incredible gardens. It’s a place where you can fully appreciate the time, effort, and talent it takes to create these impressive works.
So, when my mom and stepdad told me they’d be driving up for a visit, Mike and I jumped on the chance. It was forever since I had been (like legit middle school) and Mike had never been. I knew he would love it since he’s in the antique furniture industry and a lot of the galleries focus on those decorative arts. Needless to say, it was a perfect day. We all spent time as a family and enjoyed the art and strolls through the gardens and grounds.
Next stop: The Getty Villa. It’s a plan.
