When it comes to having wood furniture, there’s a fine line between keeping it in good condition and needing to get it refinished. Things like drink glasses and vases can be your worst enemy. Have you ever tried to get a bad condensation ring out of a tabletop? I have, and good luck – it’s basically impossible. So why not prevent issues like this in the first place? Drinks are easy, just set out coasters for you and your guests. But what about a vase? While they don’t gain much condensation, having a large container of water on top of my desk makes me pretty nervous. While Michael would always fold up a paper towel to put underneath the vase, I couldn’t stand how it looked. I was determined to find a solution that would improve the look of our space, not bring it down. While browsing through a craft store, I stumbled upon the perfect answer – a tree stump round. They carried plenty of sizes and a few different species of wood, so finding the perfect match for your space would be no problem. We chose a birch round that was perfect for our medium sized ball jar that we use for flowers. The light, gray-ish color is perfect for our apartment as well. This solution was so easy and adds a little bit of rustic appeal to our space. It was an aesthetically pleasing, inexpensive fix for a universal problem.
