Wine of the Month: Château de Ségriès Rosé

CHÂTEAU DE SÉGRIÈS TAVEL ROSÉ

I’m such a fan of rosé. It’s that perfect in between when you don’t know whether you want a white or a red, and it’s great any time of day. In the past when picking out a bottle, I usually applied my white wine rule to rosé: the lighter the color, the better. However, Château de Ségriès’ Tavel Rosé made me realize how limiting this rule is. I was recommended this bottle by an associate at Total Wine & More on a day that Miraval happened to be sold out. Who knew that would end up being a plus?

Here’s a couple first impressions once I uncorked and sipped: salty, smooth, dry, not too sweet, no acidic aftertaste. I wrote those notes down right away, re-read them after the bottle was gone, and still felt the same. This is definitely a varietal I’ll be picking up again.

Cheers!
